Charlton Comics
Charlton Comics, founded in 1945 in Derby, Connecticut, was a major publisher known for low-cost pulp-style comics and characters like Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, and The Question. Gaining prominence in the 1950s and 1960s, it experimented with storytelling in horror and science fiction but faced financial struggles and distribution issues. Though it closed in 1986, Charlton’s characters remain influential, with many revived by other publishers.
