ST. JOHN PUBLICATIONS

St. John Publications was a notable American comic book publisher founded by Archer St. John in 1947. Initially, the company focused on genres like romance, Western, and horror comics. One of its most famous titles was "Forbidden Worlds," a science fiction anthology series. St. John Publications also produced titles like "Romantic Adventures," "Teen-Age Romances," and "Teen-Age Diary Secrets." However, the company faced financial difficulties in the 1950s due to the decline in popularity of comic books and the implementation of the Comics Code Authority, which restricted the content of comics. In the early 1960s, St. John shifted its focus to publishing reprints of classic comic strips, such as "Blondie" and "Popeye." The company ceased operations in 1958 but made brief attempts at revival in the 1980s and 1990s.
